Error changing a Posted Attendance Record – Class Attendance in Staff View

Some teachers are reporting the following error message when trying to change a posted Attendance record – “Date, Period must be unique for Student, Master Schedule in table Student Class Attendance”.

This happens when a student arrives late after being marked Absent and Attendance is posted. The teacher encounters the error message when they try changing the posted Absent record to a Late record. The result is the Late entry is not saved.

The MyEducation BC service provider is aware of the issue and it is under investigation. In the meantime, they have provided the following workaround.

Click on the “P” button to mark the student Present. (Click OK to the popup window if you see one.) Click Post. Click on the “L” button to mark the student Late. Click Post.
